Q: What kind of bride were you leading up to the wedding?
Jillian: I was one of those people who always dreamed of planning their wedding and I wanted nothing to do with hiring a wedding planner. I assumed that a wedding planner would take away the personal touches and create more stress; I was very wrong. I began planning the wedding I had booked: the church, the hall, the florist, the DJ, the photographer, transportation, a hotel. I had my dress, we started making centrepieces, everything was falling into place but as the wedding was approaching I was getting anxious about how it was all going to come together.

Jillian: I didn’t know how I was going to communicate with all the vendors, our wedding party and families, how we were going to set up the church and the reception hall, let alone being able to be present and relaxed enough to take in the moment. Q: How was your experience during the last weeks of planning leading up to the wedding?
Jillian: Lily & Roses Exquisite Events was so easy to communicate with, always answering my emails usually within the day – if not the hour. We were so impressed with how the team at Lily & Roses took care of the people involved in the wedding, including all the vendors and the wedding party. They did the leg work involving communication and coordination for us for the weeks leading up to the wedding and the day of the wedding. It was gloriously organized and far better than anything I could have scrambled together. The morning of the wedding, the Lily & Roses Exquisite Events team met my partner at the reception hall and took our pre-organized centrepieces and decorations and set up the entire reception hall – and the result was beautiful.
Q: How did Lily & Roses help you on your wedding day?
Jillian: Throughout the day we had a few things go wrong. The first snag of the day was that we had forgotten our payment envelopes. The first person we needed to pay was the pianist for the ceremony – I was about to panic when the Lily & Roses Exquisite Events team paid him on our behalf and all we needed to do was e-transfer them the balance the next day. Problem solved!
Q: Thank you! Do you have another example?
Jillian: The second problem was the cake. Our venue made the cake for us, but they had not put on any decorations and it frankly looked too plain to be a wedding cake and did not reflect the character and design of our wedding at all. The Lily & Roses Exquisite Events team noticed this right away during their set-up at the hall, and they immediately called me, asking my permission to make adjustments to the cake and I told them to do whatever they thought was best. The cake ended up looking exactly how I imagined, with beautiful fresh flowers along the side. I didn’t think that mind reading was part of their job, but apparently it was!
Q: Were you pleased with the service Lily & Roses Exquisite Events offered you overall?
Jillian: The reception had many moving parts, with speeches, dances, cake cutting and the Lily & Roses Exquisite Events team made sure that everyone was where they needed to be and all my partner and I needed to do was listen to them and have fun! While the dance floor was full, the Lily & Roses Exquisite Events team subtly went around the hall and collected our centrepieces and put them back in boxes so all we could easily take them home without any added work for our family and friends.
